満濃公園ウィンター・ファンタジー – Manno Park Winter Fantasy

Every year the sprawling Manno Park on the other side of the prefecture has a giant illumination spectacle throughout all of December for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.  It was just one of those little things that I had been meaning to do, but never really got around to the past two years.  I did however try to go in my first year during one of college buddy Kei’s visits, but I got lost, preventing us from making it in time.  Ah well…

This year started out no different, as I did still manage to get lost, but at least I made it in time, barely…  On this occasion, I met up with Soeng and we walked around for about a half hour.  One of our mutual friends had lauded the place as incredible and well worth the painstaking effort of getting there.  We soon came to a similar consensus.

Blanketing the rolling hills were miles and miles of Christmas lights, often fashioned into designs and pictures.  I was imagining the ‘Christmas Vacation’ house the whole time.  It was bit nippy walking around at night, but these lights and the accompanying music made for a nice winter stroll.  We were soon thoroughly chilled, but I was very pleased to have crossed off another something from the ‘should do’ list.
