This is just a quick little update on one of my weekend activities. It was the birthday of one of the people who spends a good deal of time with many of the JETs. She is Japanese, but speaks great English and we like to see her around. She also attended my birthday shindig, so I of course wanted to repay the favor.
The night started with Shabu-Shabu, which is a type of restaurant where you have a hot pot of broth and oil cooking at your table. You order any number of things to dip into the concoction, especially thinly sliced meat. This then is eaten, and very delicious. I was unfortunately unable to join them for this portion of the night, though we met later at a bar just to hang out. Here we just chatted, played darts, chatted up the locals for about 2 hours, after which, we had to get out last trains home. I bought a drink for Yuki, and it was overall just a good time to see people on an otherwise uneventful weekend.
A few pictures from the event…
This was about half of the group just fraternizing
This is a Japanese things that kids do all the time. It is called Kancho, and consists of nothing more than attempting to ram your protruded fingers into the anus of an unsuspecting individual. It has sexual harassment written all over it. So far I’ve done well to steer clear, having only been asked for permissions to do so to me. (I said no…) Girl in the ready stance is the Bday girl.
